Felicia King - Quality Plus Consulting

testimonials_large.pngSince joining WWE in early 2005, I've been to just about every event and dinner meeting. When I decided to take my business full‑time in October 2004, I started to go to several networking meetings at different organizations. WWE is my favorite. The members are truly high‑caliber women business owners. You always learn something useful at the meetings. Unlike other networking organizations, WWE aims to help you learn skills to grow your business. Getting to know the members has been a real treat for me. Working in corporate America often felt like an intellectual vortex. I feel at home in WWE because the members are very intelligent, professional, and open. It has been wonderful for me to network with other strong women that are not intimidated by success. Rather, their success lifts you up and supports you in your own business ventures. I have gotten several clients because of networking at WWE, but that is not why I go to the meetings. I go because these professional women are my friends now and I'd miss seeing them if I wasn't there.

As I reflect back over the last 7 years of my membership in WWE, I am grateful for all of the connections and resources that have bloomed with my association. Having leadership opportunities with the organization has allowed me early on to get further involved and really learn about the history of the group, in addition to getting to know my fellow women business owners better. When I think of WWE, the words professional and caring are top of mind.

WWE is a top-notch organization that strives to provide value and quality to its members. The group’s supportive nature and aim for success continue to motivate me to participate as a WWE member. The strong programming and great networking opportunities make it a joy to attend. When a scheduling conflict arises, I sincerely miss attending an event. What a great organization to share with others. The resources that are apparent as an active member are endless.

As an active member, I value our camaraderie, the opportunity to refer clients and customers, in addition to the ongoing educational and self-development that supports my practice. As a third-generation financial planner, our firm is uniquely positioned to assist you grow your wealth. In my financial services practice, I have had the pleasure to serve the needs of fellow members, as well as their referrals and find great gratitude in being a resource to others with their planning strategies and solutions.

Roxie Hickman - The Virtual Connection

Being a member of this organization has meant new relationships and new experiences. Before starting my virtual assistance practice, I was lucky in that I received excellent training on how to be a business owner. Of course, marketing is a big part of business ownership. The advice I was given about joining organizations was to find one I felt comfortable with and then to not just be a member, but be an active member.

When I attended my first WWE meeting, almost four years ago, I looked at the organization with this advice in mind. From the moment I walked through the door, I felt welcomed. The atmosphere was inviting and energizing. There were women, who, like me, were just starting out. There were women who were exploring the possibility of becoming a business owner, and there were women that had been successful business owners for many years.

Collectively these women represented a wealth of experience and information, and I wanted to be a part of that. So the decision to join was easy.

I come to the meetings not because I’m hoping to get clients (though that would be okay) but because I enjoy the atmosphere. Because of this, there have been few meetings that I’ve missed. On a social level, the meetings are fun for me, informative on a professional level, and an emotional level, I find it comforting to be able to connect with other women that are also traveling the path of business ownership.

My present position as President of WWE really represents just how much I’ve grown personally because of my involvement. Each board position that I served in exposed me to different situations that required me to relinquish bits and pieces of my comfort zone. It’s almost gotten to the point where I may need to redefine it.
